Conduit Crystal is one of the rarer resources in Subnautica 2, and many players hit a wall when they need it for the Feedback Resonator or Bioscanner. The game gives no direct pointer to where it spawns. This guide covers the exact location, how to harvest it efficiently, and every crafting recipe that uses it.
What Is Conduit Crystal
Conduit Crystal is a mid-to-late game resource that appears as a glowing node attached to rock surfaces and alien structures. The game describes it as a material that conducts biological and technological signals, which explains its crafting role. It shows up in advanced tools like the Bioscanner and the Feedback Resonator, both of which interact with living creatures or shielded enemies.
It does not appear anywhere near the starting area. You need to make significant progress eastward before you encounter it.
Conduit Crystal Location in Subnautica 2
Conduit Crystal spawns in the region directly below the Karakorum Power Plant, roughly 1,700 meters east of the starting Life Pod. This is past the Alien Ruins, in the area surrounding the large alien control center structure. The specific deposit zone sits on the cliffs overlooking the Angel Comb below.
To reach it:
- Head due east from your starting Life Pod
- Pass through the Alien Ruins area
- Continue east until you reach the massive alien control center structure
- Drop down toward the cliffs on the lower side of that structure
- Search rock faces, ledges, and wall edges in the Angel Comb area below
Conduit Crystal nodes attach to surfaces rather than sitting in the open. Look along cliff faces and the undersides of alien architecture, not on flat seafloor. Circling rock pillars slowly works better than scanning from a distance.
Why Conduit Crystal Is Hard to Find
Several things make this resource frustrating to locate even when you know the general area.
It is rare. Deposits typically appear as single nodes rather than clusters. Unlike titanium or quartz, which spawn in visible fields, Conduit Crystal is scattered individually across the zone.
It blends into rock. The crystal sits flush against surfaces in a low-visibility area. Changing your angle of approach makes a significant difference. If a spot looks promising but nothing is showing, move laterally and check again from a different direction.
The area is deep. The Angel Comb zone requires a vehicle with decent depth capability. Running out of power mid-dive or getting cornered by fauna on the return trip is a real risk. Bring extra power cells and plan the route before descending.
Scanner Room tip. If you have built a Scanner Room on your base, set it to search for Conduit Crystal. It will return a single node marker, but when you swim toward the highlighted position, additional deposits are often clustered nearby even if the scanner only showed one. The Scanner Room narrows the search considerably.
Lightning identification. Occasionally a Conduit Crystal node gets struck by ambient lightning in the alien area. That electrical flash makes the crystal far easier to spot from a distance. If you see a flash on a rock face, investigate it.
Every Recipe That Uses Conduit Crystal
Conduit Crystal is required for six crafting recipes in the current build of Subnautica 2:
- Advanced Battery — improves your power tool capacity
- Axum Interface Chip ONL — used for alien technology integration
- Bioscanner — scans living creatures and environments. Requires 3 Conduit Crystal and 2 Enameled Glass
- Entangled Power Cell — advanced energy storage
- Feedback Resonator — upgrade for the Sonic Resonator. Requires 1 Sonic Resonator, 2 Enameled Glass, 2 Conduit Crystal, and 2 Strontium
- Improved Fins — movement upgrade
The Feedback Resonator is the reason most players go searching for this resource. Shielded enemies in the mid-to-late game cannot be damaged effectively without it, so this upgrade is close to mandatory for progression past a certain point. The Feedback Resonator is assembled at the Modification Station.
How Many Conduit Crystals You Need
If you want to craft every item that uses Conduit Crystal, plan on collecting 10 to 12 crystals across multiple trips. If the Feedback Resonator and Bioscanner are your only priorities, 5 crystals covers both.
The deposits respawn over time, but farming enough in a single visit is possible if you cover the Angel Comb cliffs thoroughly. Most players need at least two trips unless they are systematic about checking every rock face in the zone on the first run.
About Subnautica 2
Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival and exploration game developed by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, the studio behind the original Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero. The game is currently available in early access on Steam and Xbox Game Pass. Players explore a dense alien ocean environment, build underwater bases, craft tools and vehicles, and work through a narrative tied to the alien civilizations discovered on the planet.
